Revere – As our study group goes, this is as close as it gets to being in Boston without being in Boston. Revere is really two areas: Revere, and Revere Beach. And in those communities, you are talking about 50,000+ people and around 20 percent of those are Hispanic. There is also a large Brazilian presence in Revere, and nearly 5 percent of the population is Black, and another 5 percent is Asian. Revere is densely populated by rows of flats where most, according to locals, do not even lock their doors.
Revere is the place for city life and a city Pastor who will reach young families, and hip, young Hispanics, blacks and Asians in the schools, at the beach, in the parks, on the streets and around town.
With ample opportunity to be visible and meaningful in a city of more than 50,000, the church planter for Revere will need to think multi-ethnically in terms of languages and representation on his team.
